Specifically, at the Chesapeake, Virginia Headquarters, scholarship recipients and their families will join SMA onFriday, October 7, 2016 for a special luncheon and facility tour.

Manufacturing Day

The students will have the opportunity to meet industry professionals and a variety of team members. Community members will also be present to congratulate the students on their success and welcome them into the manufacturing industry.

With manufacturing supporting over 17.6 million jobs across the United States, it is important to show students and young professionals the wide expanse of possibilities. Students can be engineers, machinists, welders, assemblers, computer programmers, or team leaders, to name a few, all within the manufacturing industry.

SMA offers hands-on experience, apprenticeships, and associate’s degrees for manufacturing programs through Tidewater Community College (TCC).
