Cincinnati Incorporated to Introduce Variable Beam Fiber Laser powred by Corona™ at FABTECH 2018

Cincinnati Incorporated (CI), a U.S.-based, build-to-order machine tool manufacturer, will introduce a new series of fiber lasers powered by Corona™ at FABTECH 2018 on November 6 – 8 in Atlanta in Booth# B8439

Corona fiber lasers feature programmable beam quality enabled by groundbreaking all-fiber technology from Cincinnati Incorporated partner, nLIGHT®, a global leader in high-power semiconductors and fiber lasers.

With a single Corona laser, users can rapidly select from high-intensity, small-spot-size beams to large, donut-shaped beams, and everything in between on the fly and in real time. This dramatic advance allows optimal thick and thin-gauge metal cutting, higher cutting speed and quality, and improved piercing and small-feature processing with the same laser system.

“Using software to make laser beams programmable is truly revolutionary,” said Troy Wilson, Product Manager of CNC Table Products for CI. “Job shops and factories will no longer have to choose between purchasing multiple lasers, tolerating compromised performance from existing tools, or using complex, expensive, and fragile free-space optical technologies.”

End users get the best of all worlds—the speed of high-power fiber lasers for thin-gauge metal processing, the quality of CO2 lasers for thick-gauge metal processing, and the high uptime and low operating costs of a fiber laser solution.

Corona’s “no compromises” performance is unattainable with any other technology and is derived from its unique, all-fiber design. This maximizes laser lifespan with no maintenance or calibration requirements and no impact on power consumption, efficiency, size or installation requirements. Edge-quality and thickness-range benefits are achieved at full cutting speed to facilitate maximum productivity. Greatly improved roughness, edge straightness and perpendicularity also negate the need for post processing, enabling factory automation and “lights out” operation.

The true impact of the Corona fiber laser can best be appreciated in person. CI will be holding live cutting demonstrations at FABTECH on their CL900 laser with a 5’X10’ bed. For more details, visit Cincinnati Incorporated in Booth# B8439 at the Georgia World Congress Center on November 6 – 8.
