Chevalier Machinery Hitting The Road This Fall

Chevalier Show Machines

The Southern California-based manufacturer will exhibit new and established machines in Los Angeles and South Carolina. The company says convention-goers can get great deals when placing orders at the shows.

Dealers and end-users looking for outstanding prices on great machines in October need to stop by the Chevalier Machinery booth at Westec in Los Angeles and at South-tec in South Carolina.

Six machines will be operating October 15-17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Six machines will also be in action October 29-31 at the TD Convention Center in Greenville, S.C. Chevalier experts will answer any questions in Booth #2812 at the L.A. show and at Booth #1027 at the Greenville show.

Chevalier machine exhibited exclusively at Westec:

FBL-360B – Heavy-duty box way horizontal lathe
Chevalier clients are giving great reviews for the newly designed FBL-360B, with its 45-degree slant bed, rigid box ways structure and programmable tailstock. With its new design, the machine is engineered with ease of access. The tool setters help reduce set-up times and keep non-machining times to a minimum—a huge asset. The lathe features 35 HP, AC digital spindle motor with a two-speed gearbox and 15″ hydraulic chuck, 30.3″ maximum swing, maximum turning diameter of 22.4″ and maximum turning length up to 80″. It produces 735 ft.-lbs. torque at lower rpm. The fast 10-station servo-indexing turret offers 0.5 secs. tool indexing time. The OD shank is 1.25″ and the boring bar holder holds up to 2.5″.

Chevalier machines exhibited both at Westec and South-tec:

FBL-510C-MC – New large bore horizontal lathe with live tooling
Chevalier’s new FBL-510C-MC, perfect for pipe threading and in demand by the gas, oil and other related industries, helps manufacturers with a wide range of needs while its 21.5′ L x 9.8′ W dimensions eliminate excess floor space. The machine features dual chuck capability with a 12.5″ spindle bore diameter. The slant bed lathes are stable, highly accurate machines that can handle rough- and fine-turning operations. The three-speed gearbox provides enough horsepower for large diameter, heavy-duty cutting.

FNL-250SY – Multi-axis turning/milling lathe
The multi-functional design of Chevalier’s FNL-250SY Series is the main reason why users in the printing, piping, valves, construction and oil and gas product fields are experiencing ease of operation and increased productivity. The FNL-250SY turning and milling machine is an incredibly versatile linear roller guide way machine that provides excellent rigidity and relays very fast linear motion. The chuck size is up to 10″ and the bar capacity is up to 2.5″. The main spindle motor is 20 HP with 282 ft.-lbs. of the maximum torque at 374rpm. The maximum spindle speed is 4,500rpm. The sub-spindle motor is 10 HP with 35 ft.-lbs. of maximum torque at 1,500 rpm. The maximum spindle speed is 15,000rpm.

QP2443 – Heavy-duty box way VMC
Users of Chevalier’s QP2443 vertical machining center in such industries as aerospace, defense, printing, automotive, construction, gas and oil product fields have experienced a dramatic increase in reliability and productivity. The QP2443 vertical machining center has received praise from our clients for the machine’s rigid structure, high precision and greater productivity for heavy workpieces. An outstanding cooling system reduces thermal expansion to a minimum and upgrades machining accuracy. The machine’s table size is 49″ x 25.6″ with a table load of 2,640 lbs. XYZ travel is 43″ x 24″ x 25″. The maximum tool diameter without adjacent tool is 4.1″ with adjacent tool and 7.8″ without adjacent tool. The tool holder accepts tools weighing up to 15 lbs.

SMART-B818III – New fully automatic grinder
The new SMART-B818III is capable of producing “mirror” surface finishes on highly accurately ground workpieces that produce microfinishes of 5 RMS. The positioning accuracy is (±) 0.0025 micron and the grinding accuracy is 1 micron. The SMART’s movements are programmable in increments of 0.001mm and include a table size of 8″ x 8″. The maximum distance from table to spindle centerline is 18″ and wheel spindle is rated at 1000-7000RPM and 3HP. The SMART’s standard grinding wheel size is 8″ x .5″ x 1.25″. The machine weighs approximately 2,665 lbs., with dimensions of 80.9″ x 82.36″ x 82.7″. The SMART’s PC-based control, combined with a user-friendly conversational TaskLink function, makes it easy to learn and operate.

FSG-1224ADIII – New surface and profile CNC grinder
The new FSG-1224ADIII Series is a highly advanced, automatic-precision, surface grinding machine that offers improved accuracy, quality and ease of operation. This series includes the new touch-screen control station that is adjustable to a comfortable position for the operator. Switches, buttons, LEDs and indicating lamps are all combined in a touch display that is ergonomically positioned to provide the best user-friendly operation. The FSG-1224ADIII Series includes a new PLC controller that provides a grind cycle with rough grinding, fine grinding, spark-out passes and an automatic over-wheel dresser with compensation, which can be added to fully automate the grind process. After the cycle is finished, the table will “park” either left or right of the saddle and at the front to facilitate unloading and loading. The spindle can be set to “stop running” or “continue running.” The wheel head can also be set to return to the start position or to park at a reference point. Once the cycle is started, the wheel head will move rapidly to the start point and repeat the grind cycle. If material is required to be removed from both sides, “flip over” can be selected, so the wheel head position is at the finished grind height, which will start grinding immediately without touching off.
