This machine has been engineered from the ground up in the truest South Bend fashion and the results are extraordinary! Attention to detail begins with accurate, smooth ways, robust D1-5 spindle with Japanese-made tapered roller bearings, extra-wide, flame-hardened gears, pressurized headstock lubrication, variable spindle speeds—all supported on a massive cast iron base. It comes fully outfitted and ready for work: flood coolant system, halogen work light, spindle brake, steady and follow rests, 3-jaw & 4-jaw chucks, and centers. This all adds up to a lathe that can “hog out” huge quantities of chips for amazing production rates or give extremely fine finishes (even second operations) in the most difficult materials to machine.”
