Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of an explosion-proof enclosure, providing protection in Class I and II, Divisions 1 and 2 hazardous locations. This cast aluminum control station can hold electrical equipment up to 8″ by 8” by 4” in size. This unit features one two-position selector On/Off switch and two 10K Ohm Potentiometers.
The EPCS-PBS.ES-2P.OF-2XPTM.10K-3X0.75S explosion-proof control station features one mushroom emergency stop push-button on the top lid and is offered in two types, including a pull-to-release model and a twist-to-release model. Operation is halted when operators press the e-stop button and release to start the unit again. This unit is equipped with steel bolts and includes a weatherproof gasket for a NEMA 3R and NEMA 4 protection rating. The enclosure box is also rated NEMA 7 (Groups B, C and D) and NEMA 9 (Groups E, F and G).
Larson Electronics’ explosion-proof control station is rated for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups B, C and D; Class I, Zones 1 and 2, Groups IIB+H2, and IIA; Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups E, F, and G; and Class III, Divisions 1 and 2 hazardous locations. Three 3/4” hubs are available on the south side of the enclosure, with a removable aluminum backplate for easy mounting. This unit is suitable for use indoors and outdoors where flammable or combustible gases, vapors, dusts, fibers and flyings may be present and can house various elements, including compact electronics, control stations, meters and more.
