KROHNE Highlights OPTIWAVE 6400 Non-Contact Radar Instrument for Accurate Measurement of Solids Level at Powder & Bulk Solids Conference & Exhibition 2023

Stop by Booth #2707 to see a range of precise and cost effective level meters

KROHNE, Inc. announces it will highlight the OPTIWAVE 6400 non-contact radar instrument for accurate measurement of solids levels at the Powder & Bulk Solids Conference & Exhibition, to be held April 25-27, 2023, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, in Rosemont, IL, Booth #2707. Also on display is OPTIWAVE 6500 level transmitter for demanding applications with powders in very dusty atmospheres, and OPTIFLEX 2200 guided radar (TDR) level transmitter.

The OPTIWAVE 6400 on display is a 2-wire 24 GHz radar (FMCW) level transmitter for basic solids applications. Designed for continuous, non-contact level measurement of stones and other products in solids processing, OPTIWAVE 6400C provides accurate and reliable readings, even with uneven product surfaces or dusty atmospheres. Due to its small beam angle and its high dynamic range, the 24 GHz radar can measure distances up to 328 feet. This makes it a cost-effective, yet more powerful alternative to pulse radar transmitters. It also has approvals for use in hazardous areas. The radar transmitter offers flange or thread connections as well as optional antenna extensions to suit any nozzle length.

Also to be showcased is the OPTIWAVE 6500, a 2-wire 80 GHz radar (FMCW) level transmitter for demanding applications with powders in very dusty atmospheres. With its small beam angle, this radar is particularly suited for continuous, non-contact level measurement in high and narrow silos, hoppers or buffer storage containers up to 328 feet. Due to the high signal dynamics of the FMCW radar, the level transmitter is ideal for low-reflective media, dust, uneven surfaces or tanks with obstacles. It features a flush-mounted PEEK lens antenna, so there is no intrusion of the antenna into the tank. The OPTIWAVE 6500 provides accurate and reliable readings in process conditions with temperatures up to 302°F and pressures up to 580 psig. The flush-mounted PEEK lens antenna means there is no tank intrusion.

Visitors to the booth can also see the OPTIFLEX 2200 guided radar (TDR) level transmitter for measuring distance, level, volume, and mass in storage and process applications. The modular design makes OPTIFLEX 2200 an economical and reliable solution for common applications in a number of markets, including chemical, oil & gas, power, food, and wastewater. Featuring software-based dynamic parasite rejection (DPR) technology that eliminates false reflections caused by environmental disturbances and product build-up, the 2-wire device is ideal for replacing traditional level meters that require higher maintenance, including displacer, RF capacitance, conductive, and pressure level meters.
