Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division today announced it will showcase a wide range of digital solutions for manufacturing and metrology applications at EASTEC 2019, May 14 – 16, Eastern States Exposition, West Springfield, MA. In Hexagon Booth 3103, attendees will get an exclusive look at the new-to-market 3D scanning laser tracker, the Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600, and the standard bearing Leica Absolute Tracker AT960.
Three coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) will be on display including the shop floor 7.10.7 SF, a GLOBAL S 7.10.7 and the multisensor Optiv Performance 322. Also in the Hexagon show lineup is the AICON PrimeScan 3D optical scanner and two Absolute Arms with 6-axis and 7-axis configurations. In its 35th year, EASTEC will celebrate the historical importance of Northeast manufacturing while showcasing its future in leading-edge industries such as aerospace, medical devices, automotive, industrial equipment and defense.
Hexagon thought leader Milan Kocic joins the speaker line up at EASTEC 2019. Kocic is the Business Development Manager of UX (User Experience) and Innovation at Hexagon. He will present “Not Your Father’s CMM – New-Generation CMMs Solve Two Problems” at 1:20PM, on Tuesday, May 14th at the Smart Manufacturing Hub located at Building 5, #5375. Kocic will discuss how CMM technology has continued to evolve due to significant industry challenges – the widening metrology skills gap and the ever-increasing demand on manufacturer’s to get quality products out the door on time and in spec. The latest generation of CMMs is certainly not reminiscent of the standard, go-to measurement solutions of the past.
In the past five years, advanced CMM technologies have been introduced to render the modern day CMM more autonomous and more useful than ever before. A diversity of collaborative, operator-friendly CMMs and related technologies now help operators execute measurement routines more expeditiously. New innovations enable users to identify root causes of component defects upstream, and allow operators to leave their machine to perform other tasks, maximizing productivity on the shop floor. The three key concepts covered in this presentation include the new generation of collaborative / autonomous CMMs, innovations in the CMM user experience, and how CMMs are solving manufacturing challenges in a new way.
