Protection of 3D Design Data against Product Piracy
CAD data often contains the entire product knowledge and is the leading source of information in the development process of complex products. Thus, the resulting models are not only IP-protected but also much smaller in data size and number of elements. Models simplified with this technology still represent an exact external solid of the original shape and are therefore perfectly suitable for digital mock-up and virtual reality applications.
In particular, for the enormous amounts of data of 3D models e.g. in the aerospace and automotive industry, the technology provides enormous benefits. After the models have been “simplified” even very large assemblies can be visualized and handled with an extremely increased performance.
