Boschert Precision Machinery Now Offers Alucobond® Capabilities

Butler, WI, October, 2012 – In the latest move to expand its offerings, Boschert Precision Machinery (aka Boschert® USA) has modified its standard punching machine in order to process Alucobond®, a versatile construction material that is billed as the “Original Aluminum Composite Material” within the metal wall panel industry.

To allow for the processing of this product, a special milling head was developed and affixed to Boschert’s standard punching machine. As a result, Alucobond® can easily be bent and mounted to buildings on-site as opposed to having to bend it in a plant and then transport large, pre-bent structures to a building site.

According to Greg Hoesly, President of Boschert Precision Machinery, Inc., “Being able to cut and shape Alucobond® on-site using one of our standard punching machines translates to greater efficiency, higher cost savings and more timely installation. We are pleased to offer our customers the ability to work more easily with such a high quality product – and to be able to do so without the hassle or headache of hauling the materials.”

Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) consists of two sheets of smooth .02″ aluminum that is thermo-bonded to a polyethylene core in a continuous process. The Alucobond® product is prefinished with a premium Kynar 500® PVDF resin-based coil coating and presents an exceptionally flat, high-tech metal panel image. Manufactured since 1969, Alucobond® is known for its lightweight qualities, the ability to form textures or curves, and the option to create modules. It is available in a wide variety of standard and custom colors as well as a full line of finishes, and comes in many lengths and widths to provide creative design solutions.

Perhaps the most recognizable application of the product is seen on Epcot’s Spaceship Earth at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla. Built in 1982, it still remains an iconic and symbolic structure known throughout the world.

On a more conventional level, Alucobond® is used as cladding for many diverse applications such as office buildings, hospitals, convention centers, airports and hotels, and for critical design elements such as entrances, canopies, column covers and interiors. It provides a crisp, clean, metal look that adds an image premium to any application.

For Boschert Precision Machinery, the ability to process Alucobond® is an exciting addition to its service offerings – one that complements its full line of high quality fabricating machine tools which include notching machines, manual punching machines and CNC punching machines. For more information on Alucobond® visit www.alucobondusa.com.
