No. 847 is a 500°F electrically-heated, rotary hearth oven from Grieve, currently used for preheating magnesium alloy castings prior to a shrink fit operation, at a customer’s facility.
Workspace dimensions of this oven measure 48” wide x 48” deep x 60” high. 34.8KW installed in Nichrome heating elements furnish the heat, while a 2000 CFM, 2-HP recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow across the load.
A two-tiered 44” diameter solid hearth with perforated separators at 900 is manually rotated during loading and unloading.
This Grieve oven features 4” insulated walls, an aluminized steel interior and exterior, plus two independent air-operated doors for access to the workspace.
Safety equipment is on-board to handle flammable solvents, including explosion-venting door hardware, manual reset excess temperature controller, back-up heating element relay, separately-powered forced exhauster, exhauster airflow safety switch, recirculating blower airflow safety switch and purge timer.
A digital indicating temperature controller is also included on this oven.
