United Grinding Features Advanced Technology at EASTEC, booth #1006

This year’s EASTEC will feature United Grinding’s across-the-industry technology advancements in Booth # 1006.  Further, UGT will participate in the EASTEC Dream it. Do it. Student Challenge as a speaker and a corporate judge.  In addition, UGT will be hosting the first-ever “the GRIND Biergarten” between buildings 3 and 5 —a nice place for attendees to sit down and relax during the show. Food and drinks will be available.

United Grinding will feature the Studer S33, the Walter Helitronic Power Diamond and the Walter Helicheck Basic 2.

Studer S33

United Grinding
The Studer S33 Universal ID/OD grinder designed for grinding medium-sized workpieces in individual and batch production. It can be fitted with automation and is especially suitable for use in the toolmaking and precision engineering sectors.

The STUDER S33 CNC Universal ID/OD cylindrical grinder features a new control and a new wheelhead for grinding even more complex workpiece geometries in a single clamping. By combining ID and OD grinding in a
single platform, the S33 is the grinding solution that raises

your efficiency and output to new heights. From high throughput OD production lines to small-scale job shops, the S33 has the ability to reduce changeover times, speed up your grinding processes, and deliver consistent precision at an affordable cost.

The S33 is designed for grinding medium-sized workpieces in individual and batch production. It can be fitted with automation and is especially suitable for use in the toolmaking and precision engineering sectors. This is made possible by a new wheelhead with two motor spindles for external grinding and an internal grinding attachment.

Three grinding wheels ensure that the workpiece can be machined even more individually and quickly for complete machining in a class of its own.

Walter Helitronic Power Diamond

United Grinding
With its Two-in-One concept, the Helitronic Power Diamond opens the door to the future market of PCD tools, primarily for the woodworking and plastics processing industry. It is the first choice when it comes to eroding rotationally symmetrical PCD and CBN tools or grinding HM/HSS tools.

The market for polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tools is growing fast in both the metal and woodworking industries.  The reason is simple: PCD tools offer up to 300 times the life of normal tungsten carbide tools.  If you want the competitive edge in making these tools—explore the Walter Helitronic Power Diamond’s unique approach and features.

Walter Helicheck Basic 2

The Walter Helicheck Basic 2 is a 3-axis machine with one fixed CCD backlight camera for measuring complex profiles, step lengths, diameters, and clearance angles. It works with WALTER’S Form Tool Compensation (FTC) to automatically correct errors in form tool profiles, thereby setting up even tight tolerance tools in minutes.  It’s also ideal for measuring grinding wheels.  At about half the cost of other CNC optical measuring machines, it’s about the price of a comparator but MUCH better.

This 3-axis CNC measuring machine has non-contact complete measurement of the external contour of rotationally symmetrical tools, production parts, grinding wheels and optionally also cutting edge inspection.

The Helicheck Basic 2 replaces conventional technology, such as profile projectors. The optional inspection camera also replaces conventional measuring microscopes.

United Grinding
UGT Applications Engineer Mike Hilbert will be speaking at the Dream it. Do it. Student Challenge to let kids know what the grinding industry is all about.

Dream it. Do it.

Dream It. Do It. is the grassroots authority on influencing the perception of manufacturing careers by leveraging local, regional and statewide strategic partnerships to attract and recruit a qualified manufacturing workforce pipeline.

UGT Applications Engineer Mike Hilbert will be speaking at the event to let kids know what the industry is all about. He will be showing them some of the “cool things” he has experienced during his career in the grinding industry as well as some applications that youth can relate to. UGT will be one of the judges on the panel for this event
