UCIMU has Participated in the Italy Mission in Indonesia

UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the association of Italian manufacturers of machine tools, robots, automation and auxiliary products, has participated in the Italy mission system in Indonesia, sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Italian Foreign Affairs and organised by ICE-Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalisation of Italian companies.

The mission, which has provided B2B meetings and practical seminars of specific importance also in the field of machine tools, has seen the participation of more than 200 Indonesian companies that have met: Italian companies in representation of the main manufacturing sectors, credit institutions and Italian associations, interested in assessing the future investment opportunities in the country.

In 2012, the GDP of Indonesia recorded an increase of 6.2% compared to the previous year, by lengthening the trend of steady growth which has been observed since 2004. The vivacity of the country’s economy, that wants to invest in the adaptation of infrastructure and that require therefore production systems adequate to support this development, is a great business opportunity for Italian manufacturers, used to always operate in all markets, near and far, traditional and emerging.

In particular, in 2012, Italian exports of machine tools have grown by 12.6% compared with the previous year, reaching a value of 16 million euros. The grinding machines are the most requested types of machine tools of the local market, with a market share of 21.7% of the total, followed by drawbenches (17.3%), and by presses, 16.1%. In virtue of these results, Italy ranks seventh in the list of the suppliers of the Indonesian user industries.

These numbers, together with the limited development of the local industry in the sector, push the Italian manufacturers to increase the coverage of the area, accompanied in the activities of knowledge and market penetration by UCIMU- SISTEMI PER PRODURRE that works, alongside of companies, as the ambassador of the most advanced technology made in Italy throughout the world.
