In support of bringing more work to the local area, Seco Tools is sponsoring a special event developed to help manufacturers attain standing on the government’s bid list and to secure defense contract work.
The Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Anchor Bay Chamber of Commerce are hosting the event, themed “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Military Contracting, But Were Afraid to Ask,” being held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Macomb Intermediate School District offices at 44001 Garfield Rd. in Clinton Township, Mich. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. for a continental breakfast and opening remarks from Congresswoman Candice Miller, followed by keynote speeches from U.S. Military Officers and presentations by defense industry experts starting at 8 a.m.
As an active member of the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry as well as the Troy Chamber of Commerce, Seco continues to support and promote the growth of manufacturing in the local Southeastern Michigan regional areas and at the national level. The company has also hosted and sponsored several past manufacturing events on its own and with both the Sterling Heights and Troy Chambers of Commerce, supported by Automation Alley.
Seco has long been a supplier to the aerospace/defense industry segment, and its products are often used in the production of military defense aircraft. At the event, Seco will be on hand to field questions and offer its years of experience and expertise in improving manufacturing processes through the incorporation of its optimized metalworking tooling solutions.
Event special-guest keynote speakers and presentations include:
Major General Amy Courter explaining the importance of doing business with the U.S. Military.
Colonel Robert Shumitz, Deputy Program Executive Officer, Combat Support Program Manager and Combat Service Support for the Striker vehicle, discussing the defense sector.
