Seco Receives Supplier Excellence Award from AAM

Seco was recently presented the Supplier Excellence Award by American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM), a leading, global tier-one automotive supplier. This award was announced at AAM’s annual supplier meeting, which was held on June 22 at AAM’s world headquarters in Detroit, Michigan.

Rob Keenan, president of Seco North America, and Curtis Hassan, automotive zone manager, were invited to the supplier meeting to accept the award on behalf of Seco.

Many factors contributed to AAM selecting Seco for this honor, with the most prominent being highlighted during the presentation. These included meeting AAM’s cost savings initiatives, achieving an outstanding level of service and providing onsite support to AAM facilities in Michigan, Indiana and Mexico.

“One of the things that we believe sets Seco apart in today’s market is the passion we have for helping our customers succeed,” said Mr. Keenan. “We approach customers as partners and become personally invested in their operations. When a company such as AAM singles us out and recognizes that commitment, it’s very rewarding at every level of our organization.”

Seco has supplied AAM with tooling for over 20 years, with the depth of the relationship increasing substantially in recent years. In 2014, Seco fully managed the launch of tooling at AAM’s new plant in Rochester, Indiana. Seco’s Custom Tooling and Engineering Services teams played an integral role in setting up and optimizing processes throughout the facility. The company now provides onsite full-time support to manage continuous process optimization and tooling inventory at the Rochester plant.
