RÖHM and ATS Form Single-Source Partnership

 

Companies kick off joint efforts with mobile technology experience

 

For the North American machining market, RÖHM and ATS Systems have partnered to create the single-source that offers the industry’s most extensive workholding and machining accessory selection, unparalleled application expertise and local sales and service support.

 

RÖHM, a global leader in workholding and gripping technology, was founded in 1909 in Germany and possesses a well-established reputation for its advanced engineering capabilities. The company’s extensive best-in-class product offerings range from tiny drill chucks and highly efficient tool clamping equipment, to manual gripping technology and high-tech power clamping tools for workpiece diameters as big as 18 feet.

 

ATS is a major North American provider of workholding, automation and machining accessories with numerous regionally located sales and service personnel. The partnershipunites the products, staff resources and business efforts of the two companies.

 

ATS’s 30-plus full-time sales and service staff will provide support for RÖHM’s power workholding products, including chucks, cylinders, steadyrests, mandrels, tool clamping systems and robot grippers. ATS will continue its offering of products such as collet chucks, quick-change chucks, air chucks, rotary tables, barfeeds and the recently acquired Cooljet high-pressure coolant line.

 

RÖHM retains its strong product brand-identity, as well as its invoicing, inventorying, and product management responsibilities. RÖHM’s technical staff will reinforce ATS’s efforts with relevant product support and custom solutions for specialized applications. 

 

The partnership launched with the start of a countrywide tour of Driving Innovation – A Mobile Technology Center, a demonstration showroom housed in a 53-foot tractor-trailer and focused on workholding, automation and machine tool accessories. The tour showcases new technologies from RÖHM, ATS and other providers geared toward particular industry sectors and applications, such as oil and gas, automotive and aerospace. There are product presentations, training sessions and live demonstrations. Specialists from both companies are on hand to answer questions about products and the new, single-source model. 

 

The tour’s first stop will be at the MFG Meeting – Manufacturing for Growth in Orlando, Florida. The event takes place March 4-7 and is co-hosted by the AMT (The Association for Manufacturing Technology) and the NTMA (National Tooling and Machining Association). From there, the tour will travel to multiple destinations and manufacturing events within the continental United States.
