Okuma, Hartwig and Davis Applied Technology College Team Up

Okuma Logoto Showcase the Latest in CNC Technology and Tooling Solutions 

Hartwig, OEM engineers and other industry representatives will demonstrate cutting-edge approaches to increase profitability and productivity.

Okuma America Corporation, a world-leader in CNC machine tool manufacturing, Hartwig Inc., the largest machine tool solutions distributor in the Midwest and Davis Applied Technology College (DATC) partner to host a CNC technology and tooling event May 7 and May 8, 2014 from 9am – 5pm, at DATC, Kaysville, Utah.

This two-day event will feature on-site cutting demonstrations and several seminars. New tooling techniques that increase productivity will be illustrated on a variety of Okuma machines including GENOS horizontal lathes and machining centers, Tsugami Swiss turn centers, Bridgeport vertical machining centers, Hexagon Metrology inspection equipment, and ROMER Portable Arms. Additionally, the Okuma THINC®-OSP control will be available for hands-on demonstration and trials. The seminar schedule for the two day event is as follows:

MAY 7
10:30am – Machining Intelligently
1:30pm – How Okuma Controls Make Increased Productivity and Profitability Easy

MAY 8
10:30am – Improving Profitability via “Once and Done” Machining
1:30pm – Green Light Machining

Davis Applied Technology College
Davis Applied Technology College (DATC) is one of eight campuses in the Utah College of Applied Technology system, and is located in Kaysville, Utah.  DATC was established in 1978, and has currently provided open enrollment, competency-based training for over 8000 high school and adult students in Davis and Morgan County.   DATC currently offers 31 certificate programs in the Schools of Business, Construction, Health Professions, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Service Professions and Transportation.
