EXSYS Tool, Inc., a provider of high-precision toolholders and workholding equipment for lathes and machining centers, will showcase new advancements in live tooling, chucks, hydraulic cylinders, presses, face drivers and counterpoints from top brands, including EXSYS/EPPINGER, REGO-FIX and Kitagawa, at TECMA 2013 in Stand No. 635.
From EXSYS/EPPINGER, TECMA attendees will experience the industry-leading PRECI-FLEX® Adapter System, a unique internal coolant cut-off blade toolholder, a compact gear hobber system as well as toolholders with double and quadruple turret-position capacity.
The PRECI-FLEX System for lathe tooling changeovers has a single-base holder and multiple tooling adapters that utilize the ER collet pocket, virtually eliminating machine downtime and allowing for the interchanging of tooling adapters between fixed and rotary base holders. Available in a range of sizes, the system provides unmatched flexibility, reliability, precision and productivity in a compact, cost-saving design.
To combat the heat and friction that occurs during part cut-off operations on turning machines, EXSYS/EPPINGER’s internal coolant cut-off blade toolholder channels coolant internally from machine turrets to internal coolant cut-off blades and precisely into the cut zone. As a result, cut-off operations run cooler, surface finishes improve and overall part-processing times are shorter.
EXSYS/EPPINGER’s compact gear hobber system can generate splines, spur or helical gears in one operation. Designed for use with most horizontal turning center brands, the adjustable toolholding system eliminates having to rough gears on one machine, then transfer them to another for gear hobbing.
The double square shank and quad square shank static toolholders from EXSYS/EPPINGER increase tool turret capacity by having two or four inserts, as opposed to just one, in a single tool turret station. The company developed the Y-axis, O.D. cutting holders specifically for Mazak QUICK TURN NEXUS 200-II/250-II MY and MSY Series turning centers that feature Y-axis cutting capability and VDI tool turrets.
From REGO-FIX, TECMA attendees will witness the powRgrip® Toolholding Collet System that generates very high clamping forces equal to or higher than shrink-fit holders. The safe, precise and cost-effective system, which includes a holder, collet and mini-press, generates six tons of force and uses the mechanical properties of the holder, as opposed to heat or hydraulics, to generate tremendous gripping force with run-out below 0.0001”. Interchangeable collets are available from 1/8″ up to 1″, including metric sizes, and will hold both carbide and HSS tools. The powRgrip System takes less than 10 seconds to press in a tool or remove it from the holder.
From Kitagawa, TECMA attendees will see workholding and specialized chucks for any model of horizontal lathe, whether new or old. Also on display will be custom chuck jaw setups for specific applications as well as turnkey operations or specialized cells.
EXSYS Tool, Inc. has been growing its presence throughout Mexico over the past six years. In addition to providing high-precision toolholders and workholding equipment, the company has a full-service tooling and chuck repair facility in Monterrey, Mexico. The facility is authorized to repair any make of toolholder from any current tooling manufacturer. Services include bearing and seal repairs, chuck alignments, and stress testing. All repairs and rebuilds come with full documentation and are qualified to factory specs.
Sponsored by the Mexican Association of Machinery Distributors, TECMA is the only international trade show in Mexico to specialize in machine tool technology and peripherals. This year’s show will take place March 5-8 at the Expo Bancomer Sante Fe in Mexico City.
