Coordinate Metrology Society Finalizes CMSC 2019 Program with a Metrology Career Workshop and More

Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference Begins on July 22, 2019 in Orlando, FL

The Coordinate Metrology Society® (CMS) today announced its final schedule of events for the 35th annual Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC) from July 22 – 26, 2019 at Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld® in Orlando, Florida. The conference is widely recognized for its extensive slate of original technical papers and presentations delivered by industry experts from around the globe. CMSC 2019 will get underway with a New Attendee Orientation/Welcome at 5:30pm on Monday, July 22, followed by the customary CMSC Icebreaker for all attendees and exhibitors at 6:30pm. On Wednesday morning, July 24, the CMS will host its annual 5 Billion Micron Fun Run/Walk at 6am. The conference concludes on Friday, July 26, with an optional CMSC package tour of Kennedy Space Center. Registration and the full conference agenda can be found at www.CMSC.org.

With an eye on the power of metrology to transform the future of manufacturing, the CMS continues to add value and content to the Measurement Zone and Education Zone for metrology practitioners and scientific researchers. This year’s agenda includes a variety of new sessions and workshops, including a Metrology Careers Workshop, Lunch and Learns with Metrology Instruments, and Spotlight on New Technology sessions in the Education Zone. Perennial events such as Ask the Experts and the CMS Metrology Quiz show are back by popular demand.

The CMS Certification Committee will provide an update on their progress this year during the conference. A delegate from the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) will touch on this year’s highlights, progress, and its mission to promote innovation and industrial competitiveness. A representative from the PrecisionPath Consortium will provide an update on its Technology Roadmap for Large Scale Manufacturing and hold a meeting of its membership body.

The CMSC Exhibitor Hall will host exhibitors and measurement experts featuring portable measurement systems (PCMMs), software, accessories, peripherals, and service providers catering to the needs of the industrial measurement marketplace. Also throughout the week, metrologists seeking professional credentials will be taking CMS Level-One and Level-Two Certification examinations. Conference attendees hail from prominent science/research laboratories, educational institutions, and industries such as aerospace, satellite, automotive, shipbuilding, power generation, and general engineering and manufacturing.
