New Leadership and Structure in Newell Rubbermaid’s Tool Business – Lenox and Irwin

Major shake ups at Newell Rubbermaid – which owns Lenox and Irwin – have reshaped the structure of its tool business.

Newell Rubbermaid announced the appointment of Rich Wuerthele to lead the company’s new Tools business segment, which combines the Construction Tools & Accessories and Industrial Products & Services businesses. One cohesive Tools segment, anchored by three powerful global brands – Lenox®, Irwin® and Dymo® industrial labeling – will help enable the company’s corporate strategy, dubbed the Growth Game Plan, and become a bigger, faster growing, more global and more profitable company.

As President of Newell Rubbermaid’s Tools segment, Wuerthele will report to Chief Operating Officer William A. Burke III, who was appointed to this newly created role last month after leading the company’s Professional businesses to accelerate international expansion. Burke has a proven track record of outstanding leadership and consistent growth in his 10 years at Newell Rubbermaid. Most recently, he was Group President – Newell Professional, a portfolio encompassing a diverse collection of well-known brands including Lenox, Irwin, Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Dymo, Rubbermaid Healthcare and Shur-Line.

Burke joined Newell Rubbermaid in 2003 as the President of Lenox. Prior to Newell Rubbermaid, Bill spent 20 years at Black and Decker.
