Highlighting ease of operation, interactivity and flexibility for the packaging and processing industry, KUKA Robotics featured several innovative robotic cells at PACK EXPO 2025. One such demonstration featured a KR QUANTEC PA and KMP 600P robot working in a KUKA System Partner Automated Motion Inc. (AMI) cell for automated palletizing and depalletizing, along with robotic pallet movement. The cell highlighted simple navigation and operational versatility.
During its live demonstration, the AMI cell utilized the KR QUANTEC PA to showcase maximum flexibility and lower operating costs for palletizing and depalletizing through the company’s VersaPal™ palletizing system. The VersaPal™ is a turnkey palletizing/depalletizing system for cases, trays, pails, or bags with multiple configurations available. Equipped with a UniGripper for gentle and reliable handling of end-user products, the VersaPal-KR180 at PACK EXPO demonstrated a single infeed with dual palletizing stations serviced by the KMP 600P autonomous mobile robot (AMR) that eliminates the need for pallet conveyors.
With a maximum payload of 240 kg and a maximum reach of 3195 mm, the KR QUANTEC PA requires little floor space while providing highly precise operation and excellent cycle times for packaging processes. In the Arctic version, the robot is well-suited for refrigerated and freezer packing applications and requires no cover or heater while working in temperatures down to -30°C.
The KMP 600P is the most compact platform in KUKA’s high-performance P series of AMRs to date and is particularly suitable for confined production environments. With a 600-kg payload, the KMP 600P is a cost-effective platform for efficient material supply from the warehouse to work stations, assembly lines or preassembly lines as well as for process linking and reliable point-to-point transporting.
All KUKA automation solutions, including those at PACK EXPO 2025, are backed by the company’s expert service and support for training, complete system engineering and simulation, readily available spare parts, robot refurbishment, and more, all of which are easily accessible through the my.KUKA.com site.
