Larson Electronics- Infrared LED Light Bar for Extreme Environments

LarsonElectronics.com has announced the release of a powerful and compact infrared LED light bar designed to provide high output and rugged reliability even in the most demanding operating and environmental conditions. The  LEDLB-40X2ET-IR LED Light Bar can handle extremes of temperature, abusive use, and complete submersion underwater and produces an invisible beam of infrared light capable of reaching over 1,300 feet in length.

Larson_LEDLB-40X2ETThe LEDLB-40X2ET-IR LED Light Bar from Larson Electronics is designed for use in extreme environments and provides operators with a compact fixture capable of producing an infrared beam of light reaching over 1300 feet in length, making it ideal for demanding military and off road vehicle applications where night vision devices are commonly used. This high power LED light measures only 12 inches wide by 5 inches high, making it well suited to mounting on brush and grill guards, light racks, bumpers, and just about anywhere a traditional auxiliary light would be mounted. This LED light produces output in the infrared end of the light spectrum, making its output invisible to the naked eye but ideal for improving the performance of night vision devices such as cameras and night vision goggles. Users can choose between an 850NM version which produces a slight red glow around the lens and is best suited for use with most commonly available night vision devices, or 940NM versions which are totally invisible and better suited to use with the latest generation of military grade night vision equipment. These lights are built to withstand extreme operating conditions with a heavy gauge extruded aluminum body for rigidity and an unbreakable polycarbonate lens for excellent protection against impacts and scratching. The LED assembly is solid state and contains no glass bulbs or wire filaments, helping this light achieve very high resistance to damage from heavy vibration and the jolts and impacts common with off road use. Since this is an LED powered fixture it uses very little current and can run from any voltage ranging from 9 to 42 volts DC, making it ideal for use on vehicles, boats and ATVs where 12 and 24 volt electrical systems are standard. The LEDLB-40X2ET-IR is Larson_LEDLB-40X2ET_2impervious to the effects of driving rain, dusty conditions, and high humidity, and are IP68 rated waterproof, meaning they can withstand 3 meters of underwater submersion without issue. These lights can also withstand rapid temperature changes of -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius, making them well suited to use in locations where freezing conditions are common. The entire housing has a heavy duty finish that resists chipping fading and scratching, and stainless steel mounting hardware with rubber isolators provide for extremely secure installation. This infrared LED light fixture is ideal for a wide variety of uses, and with the growing popularity of night vision equipment for safety and boating applications, offers an ideal way for operators to improve the performance and range of their night vision equipment whether it be on a car, truck, boat, or military armored vehicle.

“The LEDLB-40X2ET-IR infrared LED light replaces old covert implementations of halogen and HID lights with specially made cut off filters,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics’ LarsonElectronics.com.  “This reduces cost, weight and consumables for operators like state game wardens that use infrared lighting on a nightly basis.”
