The Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) Thermoforming Division has announced the winners of its biennial parts competition.
The awards were presented during the Thermoforming Division’s conference, held May 19-21 in Atlanta. This year’s winners are:
- “People’s Choice.” Profile Plastics, Lake Bluff, IL, for the “Covers for Medical Cart.”
- Parts Produced for EVs and Battery Applications – Silver. Ray Products, Ontario, CA, for the “EV Charging Station.”
- Parts Produced for EVs and Battery Applications – Gold. Ray Products, Ontario, CA, for the “Low Speed EV Door Assembly.”
- Production Parts from 3D-Printed Tooling – Silver. Magic Vac, Inc., Woods Cross, UT, for the “Bucket Seat.”
- Production Parts from 3D-Printed Tooling – Gold. Electro-General Plastics Corp., Grove City, OH, for the “Door Panels for Up-Armored SUV.”
- Thin Gauge – Industrial – Gold. Swissplast, Ichenhausen, Germany, for the “Precision-Engineered Thermoformed Inlay.”
- Sustainable Thermoforming – Gold. Duoform, Edwardsburg, MI, for the “Shower Surround.”
- Cut Sheet Heavy Gauge Vacuum Form – Silver. Vantage Plastics, Standish, MI, for the “Automotive Gear Tray.”
- Cut Sheet Heavy Gauge Vacuum Form – Gold. Duoform, Edwardsburg, MI, for the “Foot Tub.”
- Cut Sheet Heavy Gauge Twin Sheet – Gold. Allied Plastics, Twin Lakes, WI, for the “Wastewater Filtration System.”
- Cut Sheet Heavy Gauge Pressure Form – Silver. Profile Plastics, Lake Bluff, IL, for the “Covers for Medical Cart.”
- Cut Sheet Heavy Gauge Pressure Form – Gold. Productive Plastics, Mount Laurel Township, NJ, for the “Medical Laser Enclosure.”
- Thermoforming Parts Used in Assemblies – Silver. Duoform, Edwardsburg, MI, for the “Flip Sink.”
- Thermoforming Parts Used in Assemblies – Gold. SAY Plastics, Inc., McSherrystown, PA, for the “Document Cabinet.”
“This year’s new category – thermoforming parts used in assemblies – was a big success,” noted Travis Kieffer, 2025 SPE Thermoforming Parts Competition Chair. “We received five entries for that category, but many more entries with assemblies were also submitted to other competition categories.”
