Hypertherm Associates, a U.S. based leading manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, is proud to be an in-kind sponsor for the welding competition at this year’s SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference June 23-27 at the Georgia World Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Hypertherm Associates will donate nine Powermax45 SYNC® units and 100 SYNC drag cut cartridges to be used for the SkillsUSA student welding competition. In addition, Hypertherm plasma subject matter experts and professionals will serve as volunteer judges to score and mentor participants.
The annual week-long National Leadership & Skills Conference is the nation’s largest gathering of America’s future skilled workforce and celebration of skilled trades. Since its inception in 1965, SkillsUSA has championed the skilled trades and works in middle and high schools, colleges and technical institutions nationwide to teach students hands-on skills in more than 130 occupational areas as a solution to the ongoing skills gap.
“Advancing technology through a student-mentor connection is core to Hypertherm Associates’ origin story,” says Aaron Brandt, Hypertherm President and CEO. “We take an active role in SkillsUSA each year to honor our history while also investing in the future.”
Hypertherm Associates will also participate in the conference’s TECHSPO, the largest technical education trade show in the nation that allows students of all ages to engage directly with industry partners and experience the latest advances in skilled trades technology. SkillsUSA attendees are invited to the company’s booth #166 to explore the Powermax45 SYNC ® plasma cutting system and welding competitors are welcomed to test their abilities before they face their challengers.
Hypertherm Powermax45 SYNC® provides the best investment for gouging, cutting and marking applications and features built-in intelligence. The Powermax45 SYNC is easy to use and designed to simplify operations, maximize performance and boost productivity.
SkillsUSA competitors and attendees will also experience the patented, easy-to-use Powermax single-piece cartridge that is pre-assembled and contains each of the elements found in a traditional stack to make consumable changeovers simple and fast. Each Powermax cartridge is designed and optimized for the appropriate amperage and application – whether drag cutting, gouging, mechanized cutting or any other specialty. They also contain a radio frequency identification (RFID) chip that communicates with the torch and power supply to set the correct amperage, usage mode, and air pressure required for the torch lead length.
Hypertherm plasma technical experts and business team members will be on hand during TECHSPO to highlight the features and benefits of the Powermax45 SYNC along with the company’s broad portfolio of plasma cutting solutions for virtually all industrial sectors.
