“Discover Mazak – Tomorrow’s Technology Today will be like no other manufacturing event the industry has seen,” said Brian Papke, president of Mazak Corporation. “What makes it and all Mazak events different is that visitors not only see the latest machine tool technology in action, they experience our Production-On-Demand process firsthand at our manufacturing plant. Our plant is driven by customer need, which results in new product development, such as the unique spindle headstock of the ORBITEC 20 for the valve industry, and the combination tailstock with 40” boring bar for the energy industry. The presentation of new technology alongside the actual manufacturing process is unique to Mazak here in North America, and something only we can provide.”

Mazak produces over 100 models of machines tools at its Florence plant, and the company has invested $13 million in expanding the facility’s capabilities through additional floor space and technology upgrades to increase output to 150 machine tools per month. As a result of those investments, attendees of Tomorrow’s Technology Today will be able to tour the plant and see, first hand, the new installation of another VERSATECH V-140N 5-axis double-column machining center for large part production and a new Mazak Optonics cell with three laser fabrication centers that improve productivity of sheet metal parts.

At Discover Mazak – Tomorrow’s Technology Today, visitors will also learn all the benefits of Mazak’s Optimum Plus program, which is a comprehensive program designed to provide Mazak customers with a strong competitive advantage, including 97% same day parts delivery. Optimum Plus encompasses many services Mazak has developed over the years and upgrades them as it establishes a clear plan for continual improvement in how the company supports its customers’ operations.
