AGMA Releases 2015 Operating Ratio Report
The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) announces the release of its 2015 Operating Ratio Report (ORR). This report is a profitability study based on data reported by gear manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada. For the 2015 edition, 52 companies participated. The ORR provides information to assist gear manufacturers to understand and analyze “best practices” in the gear manufacturing industry, comparing typical firms against high-profit companies. In 2015, typical gear manufacturers reported total profit of 5.9%, with high-profit manufacturers reporting profits of 18.6%.
This report is only available to the participants of the report. Additionally, participants will receive an Individualized Financial Performance Report. This report compares the AGMA member company’s specific information to the industry, to other companies of the same line of business, and to other gear manufacturers of equal size. Participant companies must be an active AGMA Member, and reside in North America. AGMA solicits participation from its membership each spring.
